Will EET return?

The Electronic Registration of Sales (EET) was introduced in the Czech Republic in 2016 and was met with extreme negativity by entrepreneurs. In essence, this law obliged everyone to declare every crown received in cash, which significantly complicated the operations of many businesses.

EET was introduced in several waves. But the waves of EET implementation were completely annulled by the waves of the pandemic that swept over the Czech Republic.

During the pandemic, the government decided to suspend the obligation of automatic sales registration until the end of 2023. This decision seemed temporary, although many politicians claimed that EET would not return. In early March 2022, the government finally passed the law to abolish EET. This means that companies and entrepreneurs can continue to accept cash without complicating their work with excessive bureaucracy and administrative costs.
