Over the past fifteen years, the Czech business landscape has changed beyond recognition. In the shadow of traditional corporations, a new generation of women entrepreneurs has emerged. They stopped waiting for a place at the table — and built their own instead.
They founded logistics empires, created products with international reach, and set new standards. Their companies proved that the strength of entrepreneurship lies in the character of those who choose to act.
The most remarkable success stories
1. Simona Kijonková — Zásilkovna
One of the most well-known success stories is Zásilkovna. Simona Kijonková took an everyday problem — unreliable delivery — and turned it into an efficient service that saves both time and money for merchants and customers. Starting without investors in a small Prague office, she built a business that fundamentally transformed Czech logistics.
Today, Zásilkovna (part of the Packeta Group) is synonymous with fast and convenient delivery — the Czech equivalent of FedEx in the U.S. or DHL in Germany. In 2024, the company processed more than 131 million parcels and operates over 186,000 pickup points. It is now one of the largest logistics companies in Central Europe, and its model has inspired startups across the region.
2. Božena Řežábová — GAMEE
“I wanted to build something like Instagram, but for mobile gaming,” says Božena. That idea led to the creation of GAMEE — a platform that connects players worldwide through social gaming and monetization. Today, GAMEE has over 119 million registered users and has become part of the global Animoca Brands ecosystem. A powerful example of how a Prague-based tech startup can grow into an international brand.
3. Eva Hlavsová — Fondee
In the financial sector, the name Eva Hlavsová stands for “finance without barriers.” Together with her husband, she founded the investment platform Fondee, making investing simple and accessible to ordinary people. Within a few years, Fondee attracted thousands of clients and became one of the most recognized fintech platforms in the Czech Republic. In 2024, it was acquired by the Direct Group — a rare example of a successful Czech startup exit.
4. Klára Losert — Talkbase
Klára is the founder of Talkbase, a SaaS project that helps companies manage their communities and events. The startup quickly caught the attention of investors and, in its pre-seed stage, raised over 50 million CZK — one of the largest early-stage rounds in the country. Her international startup experience helped her create a globally relevant and scalable product.
5. Dita Přikrylová — Czechitas
Dita founded Czechitas, an educational organization that helps women and girls enter the IT field. Over ten years, more than 76,000 women have completed Czechitas courses, many now working in leading Czech and international companies. A project with a profound social impact that is shaping the future of tech education in the region.
